Plot: When the government is developing plans to have a motorway run through his estate, mayor Benjamin Rolus tries to stop them by suggesting a route through the center of the village This plan would mean the eviction of a number of elderly residents. This is the final straw for his political opponent, Jan Boel, who only has bad recollections about the Rolus family Twenty years ago, Boel was a servant of the Rolus family but he got thrown out of their house when they discovered he had an affair with Pascale, Benjamin s cousin. To stop the government's plans, Benjamin barricades himself in his house and threatens to shoot any trespassers.
