The show looks at the murder of Carol Park, who's body was found in Coniston Water in 1997. The 21-year old mystery of the woman's disappearance finally came to a close, when the body was found. With the only suspect ever been her husband, Gordon, the show looks at how the seemingly happy marriage had soon disintegrated into that of violence. The show looks at what pushed Gordon to killing his wife and how he managed to elude the Police for so long. Gordon was never sentenced until 2006, 9 years after the body was found, he hung himself in his cell in 2010, less then 5 years into his life sentence.
